Under the Land Drainage Act 1991, all occupiers
of agricultural land and/or buildings within the Board's district are
legally obliged to pay drainage rates.
Drainage rates are issued annually and the
financial year runs from 1st April to 31st March.
Drainage rates are due on demand, however,
ratepayers may elect to pay by three instalments by paying one third of
their total bill in May, a second third in October and the final third
in January.
For the benefit of its ratepayers, the Board has
introduced payment by direct debit. If you are interested in payment by
this method please contact the office and a direct debit mandate will
be sent to you for completion.
East Lindsey District Council and North East
Lincolnshire Council pay special levies to the Board in respect of
domestic and commercial properties.
Please remember to inform the Board if you buy or
sell any agricultural land and/or buildings so that your drainage rate
bill may be amended.
On 25th January 2011 the Board resolved to levy a
rate of 13.70 pence in the pound for the financial year commencing 1st
April 2011.
